We also provide career & executive coaching services including: CV and Cover Letter Writing; CV reviews, interview preparation sessions, LinkedIn training and other expats support services.

We at JobStep limited take your personal data seriously. This policy:

What personal data do we collect about you?

We collect the information necessary to be able to find available opportunities and further information needed to provide our coaching and career coaching services. This information includes CV’s, identification documents, educational records, work history, employment and references.

Where do we collect personal data about you from

The following are the different sources we may collect personal data about you from:

  • Directly from you. This is information you provide while searching for a new opportunity and/or during the different career coaching stages
  • Through publicly available sources. We use the following public sources:
  • LinkedIn
  • Job Boards
  • Social Media
  • Google
  • By Reference or word of mouth. For example, you may be recommended by a friend, a former employer, a former colleague or even a present employer.

How do we use your personal data?

We use your personal data to match your skills, experience and education with job opportunities. We will initially collect basic information on you such as contact details, job role and experience. In addition, we can use your personal data during our career coaching and LinkedIn training services.

How long do we keep your personal data for?

We only retain your information for as long as is necessary for us to use your information as described above or to comply with our legal obligations. However, please be advised that we may retain some of your information after you cease to use our services, for instance if this is necessary to meet our legal obligations, such as retaining the information for tax and accounting purposes.

When determining the relevant retention periods, we will take into account factors including:

(a) our contractual obligations and rights in relation to the information involved;

(b) legal obligation(s) under applicable law to retain data for a certain period of time;

(c) our legitimate interest where we have carried out a balancing test (see legal basis below);

(d) statute of limitations under applicable law(s);

(e) (potential) disputes;

(f) if you have made a request to have your information deleted; and

(g) guidelines issued by relevant data protection authorities.

Otherwise, we securely erase your information once this is no longer needed.

Who do we share your personal data with?

We share your personal data with our clients when we submit your CV or application for a role, this is only done with your prior approval. We share information with our consultants if you have signed up for our Career Advice Services, in order for us to write a CV/Cover Letter for you or provide other services which have been agreed by you. 

What happens if you do not provide us with the information we request or ask that we stop processing your information?

If you do not provide the personal data necessary or withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data, we may not be able to match you with available job opportunities or provide our career coaching services.

Do we make automated decisions concerning you?

To provide better service to you on our websites, we use cookies to collect your personal data when you browse. See our cookie policy for more details.

You may not transfer any of your rights under these Terms and Conditions to any other person. We may transfer our rights under these Terms and Conditions to another business where we reasonably believe your rights will not be affected.

If you breach these Terms and Conditions and JobStep chooses to ignore this, JobStep will still be entitled to use its rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach the Terms and Conditions.

JobStep shall not be responsible for any breach of these Terms and Conditions caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
